Mental Health Support Groups

A Safe Space for LGBTQIA+ Individuals

In collaboration with Strengthening Wellness, The Mosaic Project of South Texas, the non-profit organization behind Pride Corpus Christi, is proud to offer free mental health support groups designed to provide a safe, affirming, and supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ individuals in South Texas. These groups aim to empower participants to navigate challenges, build resilience, and foster a sense of community.

She/Her/Hers

Ana M. Salazar Ph.D., LPC-S

I am most passionate about helping adults who hold identities from groups intentionally and historically excluded because of their race or ethnicity, gender, sexual or affectional orientation, or ability statuses including intersecting identities. My hope is we can work together to empower you to explore how systems have impacted your life and to lean into your strengths to navigate your own path towards resilience and success; whatever you define that to be.
She/Her/Hers

Bailey Patterson, B.A., Counselor Intern

When it comes to mental wellness, one size does not fit all. I work with individuals to tailor a therapy experience that will help them succeed in life by working together to help manage any emotional, mental, or societal stresses. I will take the time to get to know the individual and how their issues and concerns are affecting their lives. I provide individuals with a non-judgmental space to process thoughts and feelings.

Collaboration with Strengthening Wellness

Our partnership with Strengthening Wellness brings together clinical expertise and community-driven care. Strengthening Wellness has a proven track record of providing culturally competent and inclusive mental health services, making them an ideal collaborator in this effort.

Support Groups with a Purpose

In today’s social and political climate, LGBTQIA+ individuals face heightened challenges as their identities and experiences are increasingly scrutinized and marginalized in public discourse. Our mental health support groups respond to this need by offering:

  • A space where participants can openly share their experiences without fear of judgment.
  • Resources to navigate the pressures and challenges that come with living authentically.
  • Affirmation and validation of LGBTQIA+ identities.

We believe in the power of community support to combat isolation and foster healing, especially in times of adversity.

Each support group session is professionally facilitated and capped at 10-12 participants to ensure personalized attention and meaningful interaction.
