Transgender Resource Initiative

Collaborating to Meet the Needs of the Transgender Community in South Texas

The Mosaic Project of South Texas, in partnership with the Coastal Bend Trans Alliance, is proud to announce the upcoming launch of the Transgender Resource Initiative. This program was created to support the needs of the transgender community, particularly in light of the federal government’s blatant failure to protect and support transgender citizens. These efforts by the administration to erase transgender existence from public spaces make this initiative more critical than ever.

What the Transgender Resource Initiative Offers

The Transgender Resource Initiative is designed to provide essential resources that support the health, safety, and well-being of transgender individuals. Through this program, we will offer:

  • Binders – Compression garments worn to flatten the chest for a more masculine or androgynous appearance. Designed for comfort and daily wear.

  • Binding Tape – A flexible, breathable tape alternative to binders that allows for more customizable shaping and is ideal for certain body types or outfits.

  • Packers – Prosthetic devices that create the appearance of a bulge in the pants, helping transmasculine individuals feel more aligned with their identity.

  • Breast Forms – Soft, silicone or foam prosthetics worn in a bra to simulate the shape and feel of breasts for transfeminine individuals.

  • Starter Makeup Kits – Curated kits that include essentials like foundation, concealer, lip color, and more to support gender expression, self-exploration, and confidence.

These resources will be made available to the community to reduce financial barriers and provide the tools necessary for self-expression and identity affirmation. We understand the importance of how these resources contribute to one’s quality of life. Additionally, check out this presentation on Transitioning 101 from Santiago Luna for more helpful guidance.

📏 Breast Form Size Chart

Find your bra band size across the top and your cup size on the left. The number where they meet is your breast form size.

32 34 36 38 40 42 44 46 48
A 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
B 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
C 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11
D 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12
DD 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12

Not sure of your bra size? Measure your band (around your ribcage, just under your bust) and add 4-5 inches for your band size. Cup size is determined by the difference between your bust measurement and band measurement.

Join Us in Supporting the Transgender Community

This initiative is a vital step in standing against oppression and ensuring that transgender individuals have access to the resources they need. We believe in creating a world where everyone can live authentically and safely. Together, we can make this vision a reality.

Additional Resources for HRT

For transgender individuals seeking Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), we recommend exploring the following resources:

  • Plume: An online service providing HRT care specifically for the transgender community. Visit getplume.co.
  • Folx Health: A telehealth provider offering HRT services and support. Visit folxhealth.com.
  • Trans Lifeline Microgrants: Provides financial assistance for legal name changes and updating gender markers. Visit translifeline.org.
  • Out Youth (Texas-specific): Offers free or low-cost HRT consultations for youth in Texas. Visit outyouth.org.

These third-party resources are available to help remove barriers to accessing gender-affirming care, particularly in Texas where legislative challenges make such care increasingly difficult to obtain.
