Since its grassroots founding in 2016 and formal establishment as a nonprofit organization in 2018, Pride Corpus Christi has been at the heart of the LGBTQIA+ community in South Texas. What began as a single Pride Parade has grown into a year-round effort, expanding visibility, fostering inclusivity, and building a stronger, more united community.
Our Mission
Pride Corpus Christi is dedicated to ensuring that LGBTQIA+ youth and adults in South Texas know they are loved, supported, and not alone. We believe in the power of community and the importance of creating spaces where everyone can celebrate their authentic selves.
A Legacy of Growth and Impact
Through the years, Pride Corpus Christi has become a cornerstone of the local LGBTQIA+ community, delivering events and programs that make a real difference:
Year-Round Events: With over 26 events in June alone in 2024, we offer opportunities for celebration, education, and connection throughout the year.
Pride Parade & Block Party: Our signature event in October has grown to feature more than 3,000 marchers, vendors, and attendees. This vibrant celebration brings the community together in an unforgettable display of unity and pride.
Community Impact: Partnering with the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation, we successfully delivered on a two-year CDC grant to provide over 1,200 free HIV and STD tests to the community. This initiative underscores our commitment to health and wellness for all.
Fundraising and Support
The success of Pride Corpus Christi depends on the generosity of our community. Fundraising efforts begin every January to ensure that our events remain accessible, safe, affordable, and impactful. With your support, we can continue to expand our programs and initiatives, reaching even more individuals in need.
